Terms & Conditions
In order to not create conflict between the medical profession and holistic therapy practitioners, you will at no time maintain that your services can benefit the client more than those of a licensed physician. You understand that the services you provide are complementary to those of a licensed health care professional and that the greatest benefit for the client lies in a close collaboration between you as a holistic therapy practitioner and a licensed physician, each professional contributing differently and in a complementary way to the wellbeing of the client. Furthermore, you are made aware that you should not treat clients with serious mental health problems but advise them to see a licensed psychiatrist.
By being a teacher of one of the accredited institutions' training programs you are expected to adhere to the Code of Ethics of GFSH and always make it clear to your students, that their training and acquired skills do not permit them to make diagnostic predictions comparable to those of a licensed physician and that they hence are advised to not "ascertain" any physical illness of their client but leave such issues to a licensed healthcare professional. Although, we expect students graduating from an accredited program to have some knowledge regarding ancient traditional medicine such as Chinese Medicine, Tibetan Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Unani Medicine and so on, their skills do not allow them to use these disciplines' diagnostic tools in a way that would suffice to make an accurate and professional diagnosis. These teachings have been included in the accredited program standards for the student to better understand how the elements and the senses associated with the corresponding elements work on the construct of health and help in "invigorating" the self-healing power of the person to be treated. The diagnostic tools of a Spiritual Healer are observation, the verbal description of the condition on part of the client and her/his intuition or other extrasensory perceptions and insights, these methodologies do not allow you, as a Spiritual Healer, to ascertain a physical ailment or condition nor a mental condition.
Furthermore, we expect practitioners and teachers alike to contribute to the improvement of the reputation of Spiritual Healing and related therapies by not discrediting these healing modalities with words or deeds and always abide by the legislation of the country or state they are practicing or teaching. We encourage you, as a practitioner or teacher, to collaborate for the integration of spiritual healing and related therapy forms with "Western medicine".
Should the Global Federation for Spiritual Healing have proof that one of the teachers of an accredited program does not inform students accordingly, we will have to take immediate action, in severe cases we will have to suspend membership to the federation.
