Promoting the Art of Spiritual Healing

Vedic Health Concept

According to Vedic Scriptures at the centre of attention is the soul, also called Atma in Sanskrit. It is considered as our “true self” that expands beyond our existence in the manifest world. When our soul lives in tune with the soul of all souls, also called Brahma, we are at our highest bliss. The unification and identification with the highest vibrations, here called Brahma, and the surrendering of hurt and disillusionment to the higher plane, frees us from destructive thoughts and emotions that have a negative impact on our overall well-being. Since the bliss of the soul affects the mind and the body to such an extent, most therapeutic work aims at reconnecting the Atma, our true self, with the Brahma, the overall soul. This process of release gives peace and tranquillity to the mind and spirit and makes our whole being more resistant to negative energy vibrations that could penetrate our aura, that is, our subtle energy body, and cause disease and illness. "Attuning the soul" to the divine, and the release of negativity experienced through this process, are viewed as a catalyst for bringing about wellbeing. Through this process the spirit, mind and body are empowered to bring about self-healing and restore balance between them. The restoration of balance and inner harmony calms down the central nervous system and strengthens the immune system.

Based on the Vedic scriptures it is our senses that make us prey to sickness and illness. Hence what has “befallen us” through our senses, can also be “redeemed” through our senses. We adhere to the belief and principle that our senses can sustain the process of healing and wellbeing. The Global Federation for Spiritual Healing promotes the art of healing trough the senses, including the sense of touch with energy therapies such as Reiki, the sense of sight with Colour and Crystal therapy, the sense of smell with Pranayama and Aromatherapy, the sense of hearing with Healing Music and Mantras and finally, the sense of taste with specific Nutrients, Spices and Teas. By making a positive impact on the senses the soul finds inner peace and strength and this in turn increases our self-healing power.

Basically, we believe that through the conscious use of our senses for healing purposes, our mind has the power to “construct” our health, provided our soul is attuned to the highest “bliss” and freed from negativity that might obstruct this process.

We acknowledge that health and illness are social constructs and hence differ from society to society and belief system to belief system.

Our approach is based on the Vedic Scriptures; at no time do we maintain that this is the only acceptable “construction of the reality of health or sickness”. We are aware of, and accept that, for other cultures and belief systems, other principles and philosophies hold true.
